REFRIGERATED COLD STORAGE FACILITY

Amond World is developing a state-of-the-art refrigerated cold storage facility in the Madera Airport Industrial Park to specifically support farmers and processors. Cold Storage will increase profitability, extend almond shelf life by up to two years, and simplify hold costs and logistics. Our builder, Span Construction, will deliver two 254,000 sq. ft. buildings with the first to be completed by May 2023. Each building will hold approximately 50 million pounds of bins and/or finished product.

Amond World is a State-of-the-Art development of Premium Refrigerated Cold Storage in the Central Valley of California to support Farmers and Processors and provide short and long term storage. This will help increase their profitability and extend the almond shelf life up to 2 years. While at the same time complying with the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act for all food safety of agricultural products.

Energy for the project will be provided by a unique form of solar panels lining the roof and side walls for an enhanced energy output.

Almonds have become California's agricultural super crop in recent years producing 85% of the world market. A recent crop report released by the Almond Board of California indicates the industry contributes over $11 billion a year to the state’s gross domestic product which includes production of the crop itself and the processing and marketing of the nuts.

Amond World will be providing new organic state of the art fumigation technics to diminish the use of the toxic fumigant phosphine and to provide the highest and best quality almonds to the market.
